Avoid these mistakes when emailing a potential employer.

Looking for a job or career change is a job within itself. Almost all potential employers request applicants to email their resumes for advertised positions.

Never, ever when applying for a professional job make the following mistakes:

1. Do not use a an email address with sketchy or sexual content such as hottie101@blah.com or betterthanyou@whatever.com. Create a separate account for professional use.

2. Do not send your resume to more than on company within one message. This tactic could cause your resume to be deleted without being read. When applying for more than one position send separate and original messages to each company.

3. Please, please, please do not send your resume with your current company information in the salutation. Example: Lisa Smith, Program Director- Career Finders. This shows zero respect for your current employer and portays unprofessionalism.

Keep these tips in mind when emailing your resume.
